IIT placements: The placement season in India's premium engineering colleges Indian Institute of Technology begun on December 1 which will go on till May. Like always, companies from across the globe has hired the over 1,000 IITians from Delhi, Kharagpur, Roorke and BHU campuses.
The class of 2024 from IIT Delhi has baaged 480 full time jobs including pre-placement offers, with around 450 unique selections by the end of Day 1 of the placement season on Friday. Many students have also received multiple job offers.

The institute in a statement mentioned that more than 360 national and international companies have registered for the hiring process, offering more than 660 job profiles across multiple sectors so far. The top recruiters on Day 1 include Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and Texas Instruments in terms of number of offers given. Around 25 students have received international job offers at locations such as Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, the UK and the US.
Meanwhile, IIT Roorkee saw 31 companies offer multiple profiles till Saturday evening. With this, a total of 62 companies have visited the campus since the start of placements on December 1. Companies who made job offers on Day 2 include Accenture, Barclays, Clear (ClearTax), DCM Shriram, Deutsche Bank, Flipkart Internet Pvt. Ltd, Groww, Hilabs, ICICI Lombard, Jaguar Land Rover, Javis, Mastercard, according to a statement shared by the institute. A total of of 440 offers were received.
IIT Kharagpur has bagged over 700 offers including pre placement offers. More than 61 companies made offers at IIT Kharagpur for software, analytics, finance–banking, consulting and core engineering roles.
Apple, Arthur D.Little, Da Vinci, Capital One, DE Shaw, EXL Services, Glean, Google, Graviton, Microsoft, McKinney, Quantbox, Databricks, Square point and TSM, Palo Alto were among the companies that participated in the campus placements.
IIT Kharagpur in a statement mentioned that the students received more than 19 overseas offers with six students being offered Rs 1 crore-plus packages on the first day of the placement drive.
IIT-BHU saw 230 offers along with around 307 PPOs from 68 companies. The packages offered to IIT-BHU students ranged between Rs 12.5 lakh and Rs 1.68 crore. Companies that came to the campus include, Google, Flipkart, Deutsche Bank, Tata Capital, Deloitte among others
However, the macroeconomic challenges have reduced the offers made compared to last year. As per Times of India, the number of participating companies at IIT-Bombay are almost the same as last year—around 350. The number of job announcement forms(JAFs), however, are fewer as compared to last year.
IIT Bombay saw a marginal increase in the number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) accepted - from 194 last year to 200.
