Owing to tremendous financial stress, no-frills carrier Go First had applied for bankruptcy on Tuesday. Passengers who had booked their flights for 3rd, 4th and 5th May are irked with the airlines for cancelling the flights without proper warning.

Go First has assured all its customers a full refund to the original mode of payment. This means that if the passenger has booked their flight through a travel agency, the refund will be sent to the agency and the passengers will have to get it back from them. In case of direct booking, the amount will be credited directly to the passenger's account.

As per DGCA guidelines, in case the airline informs passengers about cancellation less than two weeks before and up to 24 hours of the scheduled time of departure, the airline shall offer an alternate flight or refund the ticket, as acceptable to the passenger. Likewise, if the passengers are informed less than 24 hours before the departure time, then the DGCA Guidelines provides for payment of compensation. However, an airline will be excused from paying a compensation if the cancellation occurs due to extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of the airline.

Meanwhile, Go First has made it clear that it won't reschedule the flight or transfer the tickets to other airlines.
