Edtech company Byju's has appointed upGrad's former top boss Arjun Mohan as its CEO for international business.

Mohan was with Byju's for 11 years as its Chief Business Officer before moving on to join Ronnie Screwvala-promoted upGrad as its Chief Executive Officer for India. He resigned from upGrad in December last year.

Meanwhile, Byju Raveendran will remain the group Chief Executive Officer.

As per Moneycontrol report, Mohan will be responsible for running Byju's overseas operations, while Chief Operating Officer Mrinal Mohit will head the company's India operations.

According to the company website, Byju's operates in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, the UK, Brazil, and the Middle East, with users in about 100 countries.

The news comes after Byju’s account books are now under the scanner as the union government has ordered an inspection into the education-technology titan, which has been rocked by the resignation of its auditor and three board members last month, according to people familiar with the matter.

According to reports, the Ministry of corporate affairs has sought a report in six weeks. The inspection follows an internal assessment of the company’s state of affairs and based on the findings of the inspection the government will decide if the matter needs to be brought up to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office.
