India's most valued startup is on a sacking spree after 300 employees were laid off coding unit WhiteHat Jr reports indicate that the edtech giant acquired Toppr, has also asked over 1000 employees to go.

Reports indicate that over 1000 Toppr employees were informed about the layoffs over a phone call from the HR and were asked to 'resign' with immediate effect or would be handed a termination letter without any notice period.

"I am part of the Chemistry subject matter expert. My entire team has been laid off. Toppr has promised 1 month salary for those who resign and no salary for those who don't," a Toppr employee, who did not wish to be named, told PTI.

Toppr's employee exits comes in the same week as another Byju's unit WhiteHat Jr. sacked over 300 employees. The coding platfom was acquired by Byju's during the pandemic and has already booted out over 600 employees in two rounds of 'restructuring'.
