Salesforce COO Brian Millham, in an interview to Bloomberg has hinted at another round of layoff by the company. Earlier in January, Salesforce had announced a 10% reduction in the workforce, that affected around 8000 employees. This was the company's biggest-ever headcount reduction.
"The structure of the organisation- if we feel like it needs to change and reshape - we are going to make those moves to drive the efficiencies", said Millham
The company is also closing offices across the U.S. According to the report, a group of activist investors who have taken stakes in the company are pushing for more cost cutting efforts, in search of improved profit margins.
In January, Salesforce's CEO Marc Benioff had sent an letter while announcing the job cuts. He had said that the environment remains challenging and that the customers were taking a more measured approach to their purchasing decisions. For those who will be leaving Salesforce, the priority is to fully support them, including by offering a generous package.
