Tata Consultancy Services has named Sivakumar Viswanathan as the new head of hiring. This comes amid an internal probe in the Bribe-for-Job scandal that has led to the sacking of at least 15 executives and the blacklisting of eight staffing firms.

As per Mint, Sivakumar Viswanathan is a 30 year old veteran of the company who is appointed as the head of Resource Management group (RMG). The primary job of RMG is to hire contract workers and internally deploy people to projects.

TCS CEO K. Kirithivasan got an email from a whistleblower regarding the scandal. The new head Sivakumar Viswanathan is a trusted lieutenant of the TCS CEO, reported Mint.

TCS has also sacked 15 people from the RMG divisions in the US, Canada, and India’s Bengaluru and Hyderabad, Mint reported quoting a source. The IT giant is also in the middle of an audit of all the staffing firms it engages with, asking its recruitment arm that hires temporary workers to share details of all contract workers.

In the last 3 years, TCS has hired 3 lakh workforce and it is estimated that those involved with the scam inside the company could have amassed Rs 100 crore through the same.
