In a move to curb the spam menace, Bharti Airtel has launched India’s first network-based, AI-powered spam detection solution, aimed at solving the issue of spam calls and messages for its customers.

A first-of-its-kind solution by a telecom service provider in the country, the tool alerts customers in real-time to all suspected spam calls and SMSes.

The solution is free of cost and gets auto-activated for all Airtel customers without them having to raise a service request or download an app.

On the day of its launch, the tool detected 11.5 crore spam calls and 35 lakh spam messages within hours. The numbers are expected to rise further as the tool is extended to all customers of Airtel.
