A popular tourist destination in Brazil, Fernando de Noronha has announced its plan to allow visitors back in with a novel reopening twist.

The paradisiacal archipelago, also home to Baia do Sancho, named the world's best beach by Trip Advisor's Traveler's Choice Awards, will only allow tourists who have contracted and recovered from Covid-19.

The results of either a 'minimum 20-day old positive PCR test' or a serological test proving the existence of Covid-19 antibodies, will be accepted beginning Sept 1.

The innovative Covid immunity plan is just one of the many ways tourist hubs are trying to lure visitors back without causing more outbreaks.
