As October 10 marks the World Mental Health Day, here are some of the Bollywood films that tried to end the stigma by portraying the sensitive issue on the silver screen

Dear Zindagi

Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Dear Zindagi' that shows how stress and unhappiness can result in insomnia. The film taught us that it’s okay to not be okay. The film shows Alia playing the role of a young cinematographer seeking psychological help to over various circumstances in her life

 

Barfi

Centered around the lead character 'Barfi' played by Ranbir Kapoor, the film also features Priyanka Chopra playing the role of a young girl suffering from Autism & her role has touched the hearts of many.

 

‘Karthik Calling Karthik’

The film shows Farhan Akhtar playing the role of Karthik Narayan, an introvert man who blames himself for the death of his brother. The film shows how Karthik develops an alter-ego as he talks to himself to become a more confident version of himself
