Bitcoin fell below the $30,000-level for the first time in a month, wiping off nearly $100 billion from the crypto markets.

At 2:30 pm, Bitcoin was down almost 6% at $29,697, as per Coindesk. For the current year, Bitcoin has lost all its gains. It touched an all-time high in April when it crossed $64,800.

The slump in cryptocurrencies came as we see selling across the globe. Also, some nations cracking down on digital currencies keep creating havoc in the markets.  Bitcoin’s 2% advance this year lags behind the S&P 500’s 13% advance making investors question the meteoric rise seen last year.
