Biden says China still withholding 'critical information' on Covid origins

U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday said in a statement said that China was withholding "critical information" on the origins of Covid-19.

US intelligence community said that it does not believe the Covid-19 virus was a bioweapon but remained split on whether it escaped from a lab

The United States also doesn’t believe Chinese officials had foreknowledge of the deadly virus before the outbreak that has claimed over 44.8 lakh lives, according to an unclassified summary of an awaited intelligence report.

Biden however said that government officials in China have worked to prevent international investigators and members of the global public health community from accessing' information.

The President further added that the United States would continue to work with allies to press Beijing to share more information and cooperate with the World Health Organization.
