Bhai Dooj celebrated with traditional gusto in Prayagraj

Bhai Dooj, also known as Yama Dwitiya, is being celebrated in Prayagraj in the traditional way. 

According to some people's beliefs, bathing in the water of river Yamuna and worshipping the god of death on this day can help elongate the life of the brother and save him from premature death. It is believed that Yama and Yamuna are the deities of death. 

Bhai Dooj, a festival symbolic of brother-sister love is being celebrated all over the country on November 16 this year. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted the nation, tweeting “Best wishes to all of you on the holy occasion of Bhai Dooj.”
