Bengal polls: Mamata Banerjee releases TMC manifesto, promises 5 lakh jobs yearly, aid for the poor

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee released her party's manifesto for the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections and promised to generate 5 lakh jobs in a year.

Mamata promised a slew of schemes and measures that she would bring if her party is voted to power. Addressing the agricultural sector, she said farmers will receive Rs 10,000 every year.

To woo the economically weaker section, she reiterated her promise to deliver free ration at doorstep and also announced a guaranteed annual financial assistance for the poor.

Under this scheme, general caste beneficiaries would get an ensured annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000. While for the backward community, the amount would be Rs 12,000.

Rs 1000 every month for widows and, credit card worth Rs 10 lakhs annually for students were some of the other promises Mamata made.
