A major political row has erupted over the visuals of Bengal Police personnel wrestling with a Sikh during a BJP protest on Thursday. The BJP has alleged that the Bengal cops hurts sentiments of Sikh community by pulling off the man's turban and has demanded strict action against them. The police has, however, stated that the man was carrying a gun at the protest, and that the turban fell off during the struggle to seize the weapon from him. The Police also tweeted a picture of the Sikh man with his turban on, claiming that out of respect for the religious sentiments, cops asked the man to tie his turban again before being arrested. 43-yr-old Balwinder Singh was identified as a former soldier of Rashtriya Rifles from Rajouri in J&K.
