Beautification of the famous Shalimar-Dal Lake water channel is underway by the Jammu and Kashmir administration.

The channel is slated to be one of the oldest one which connects Shalimar garden to Dal Lake in Srinagar.

Over the years, waste material has been thrown into the channel, making its condition worse. It is now being renovated by the J-K Lakes and Waterways Development Authority, a move, authorities hope will enhance tourism and business opportunities.

The tourist attraction will be all set in 2-3 months time, the supervisor told news agency ANI.
