After completing a treble last season, Bayern Munich began the new Bundesliga season with a bang as they demolished Schalke 8-0 on Friday. Serge Gnabry was the hero of the night with a hat-trick and set the tone for Bayern in just the 4th minute. Interestingly, 2 of his goals were assisted by Leroy Sane, who was playing his first game for German giants after a £44.7m move from Manchester City. Sane then too managed to find the net on his Bayern debut in the 71st minute. It was in fact the second time Bayern managed 8 goals in a game this year, having smashed Barcelona 8-2 in the Champions League quarter-finals.
