Making a strong statement on climate change, luxury fashion house Balenciaga had models walk down a 'flooded' runway at the Paris Fashion Week. Models strutted through almost an inch of water that art director Nicke Bildstein-Zaar piped onto the black runway, some wearing water socks while others braved it in stiletto heels. The catwalk was symbolic of the rising sea levels, an evident consequence of global warming with the first and the second row seats submerged under water. Pointy pagoda shoulders, latex trench coats and futuristic eye wear were some of the highlights of the collection that focused on all the things that Designer Demna Gvasalia loved while growing up in Georgia.
