After losing the 1st ODI, England came back strong in the 2nd ODI to keep the 3-match series alive against Australia. Batting first, England could only muster 231/9 from their 50 overs with Adam Zampa picking up 3 wickets for 36 runs. None of the English batsmen got a half-century as skipper Eoin Morgan chipped in with a 42. A 72 run 8th wicket stand between Adil Rashid and Tom Curran pushed England to 231/9 which looked like a below-par total. In reply, Australia started strong and reached 144/2 as skipper Aaron Finch smashed 73. With things looking all set for Australia to take an unassailable lead, England engineered a collapse with their attacking mindset. The visitors lost their last 8 wickets for a mere 63 runs as Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer and Sam Curran picked up 3 wickets each for England to level the series 1-1 and win the game by 24 runs.
