Australians were fighting for their pride and the top T20 ranking as they beat England in the 3rd & final T20 of the series in Southampton. England batted first and managed just 145/6 from their 20 overs with Jonny Bairstow scoring a fighting half-century. In reply, Australia lost wickets at regular intervals. Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers as he removed the dangerous Glenn Maxwell, Aaron Finch & Steve Smith to give England a fighting chance. Mitchell Marsh then dug deep with a 36 ball 39 to take the Aussies home with 5 wickets to spare. Despite losing the series to England, Australia managed to keep their number 1 ranking in T20 cricket intact.
