At 55.86%, voter turnout improves in maximum city

The voter turnout in Mumbai improved this Lok Sabha election, but was still lower than expected. Voting percentages were particularly low in south Mumbai and Thane with 50.34% and 50.22%. In 2014, Mumbai registered a turnout of 51.6%, which was better than the low of 41.4% in 2009.
