An asteroid thrice the size of the Taj Mahal will pass close to the earth on July 25
According to NASA’s an asteroid, named ‘2008 GO20,’ sized about 220 metres in diameter, will cross our planet at a distance of 4.7 million kilometres at 3 am IST.
The asteroid is moving towards Earth at a speed of 29,000 kilometre per hour.
Though the asteroid is hoped to safely pass by the earth’s orbit, NASA has flagged it as a potentially hazardous object, given it is more than 150 metres in diameter.
