Team India fielding coach R Sridhar has opened up on why aggression ran high during the Lord's Test vs England. On Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel, he revealed that after Bumrah's barrage of bouncers at Anderson during the first innings, the Indian pacer went up to Jimmy and patted at him, so as to tell him that it wasn’t intentional but Anderson brushed him aside.

It sparked a fire in everyone and The effect of that was visible on day 5, explained Sridhar. English quicks also bowled bouncers at Bumrah and Shami with a couple of balls hitting Bumrah on the helmet. They still stood tall and took India to a winning total.

That ignited Team India even more and what followed was an aggressive outburst by the bowlers and skipper Virat Kohli which blew away England in just 2 sessions.
