Alok Verma to SC: Can't change fixed tenure of 2 years

CBI Director Alok Verma, who has been relieved of his duties by the Centre and sent on administrative leave, told the Supreme Court that he was appointed for a fixed tenure of two years and cannot be transferred. Verma, who has been embroiled in a bitter tussle with his deputy Rakesh Asthana, had moved the top court seeking a stay on the Centre's order. The hearing in the case will be taken up next on the 5th of December.
