New research about air pollution has revealed some shocking facts. A new study led by researchers at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health in association with India suggests that women exposed to indoor air pollution have an increased risk of hypertension. Published in the journal Epidemiology, the study was conducted on 5,531 adults from 28 peri-urban villages near Hyderabad. The candidates were exposed to fine particulate matter levels above the 10 microgrammes per cubic metre. The study concluded that since women spent more time indoors compared to men, they were highly likely to suffer from hyperactivity.
