An officer of the Indian Air Force College was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a colleague in Coimbatore.

Reports said that the alleged sexual assault took place ten days ago and the woman had complained to the IAF authorities who allegedly did not take any action.

The woman officer then filed a complaint with the Coimbatore Police stating that she was not satisfied with the enquiry done by the IAF authorities.

Following the investigation, the accused officer, Flight Lieutenant Amrinder, was escorted to a judge’s home where he was made to surrender, The Newsminute has reported. He has been sent to judicial custody and is currently lodged at Udumalpet jail.

The 29-year-old accused officer reportedly had come from Chhattisgarh for training at the Air Force facility near Race Course.
