Israel and the Gulf state of Bahrain reached a landmark deal on Friday to fully normalise their relations, US President Donald Trump announced. Bahrain is only the fourth Arab country to recognise Israel since its founding in 1948. Calling it ‘another historic breakthrough’, Trump posted on Twitter a copy of a joint statement between the US president, Israel’s Netanyahu and Bahrain's King Hamad. Trump, who presented his Middle East peace plan in January helped broker last month's UAE-Israel peace deal as well. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he is 'excited' as a 'peace agreement' has been reached with another Arab country.
