After global spotlight on the farmers protest, the international focus is now turning on a 23-year-old Dalit activist who has been in jail for close to month. Naudeep Kaur was arrested when she took part in a labourers protest at Haryana's Kundli on January 12. Her family has alleged sexual assault by cops in custody. Police have denied family's charge of assault. On Monday, lawyer and author Meena Harris, who is also the neice of US vice president Kamala Harris, tweeted about Naudeep Kaur. Harris tweeted an image of posters seeking Naudeep Kaur's release, juxtaposed with images of a mob burning posters of celebrities who had drawn flak after tweeting about the farmers' protest.
