Rafael Nadal's first match since Washington Open in August after recovering from injury didn't go as planned. Andy Murray defeated the reigning champion 6-4, 7-5 in Abu Dhabi's World Tennis Championship exhibition tournament on Friday.

Both players got off to a good start, but Murray broke through in the sixth game to take a 4-2 lead. In the eighth game, Nadal held his serve admirably but was unable to break, and Murray won the first set 6-3.

The second set went to the tie-breaker but Murray kept his game intact and won crucial points to win the set 7-5.
