The National capital may soon get a green helpline to address complaints, calls related to wildlife and tree offences, the Indian Express reported.
People can call the helpline and flag animals in distress, or cutting of trees without permission among other things. The information will be transferred to the deputy conservator of forests in the particular area who will take action.
In addition, three mobile squads have been set up to help look into the complaints. A meeting is scheduled to take place on the 18th of September with the Ridge Management Board to discuss hiring of more staff members who will help in rescue operations, the report added.
