A global first: Australia to eradicate cervical cancer

Australia will be the first country to eliminate cervical cancer which could be as soon as within the next 20 years. This is according to a study conducted by researchers at the Cancer Council New South Wales, The country's screening programs and National vaccinations are the reason for this medical achievement. By 2022, the cancer maybe in the "rare" category in Australia and researchers are hopeful that the incidence of the disease will decrease if the screening for Human Papilloma virus (HPV) continues. Australia aims to set an example for the rest of the world.
