Nine of the 11 finalists for 2021 US Spelling Bee contest are Indian-Americans. The 11 spellers will compete for the prestigious champion title during the 2021 Scripps National Spelling Bee Finals on July 8, a statement said on Monday.
The final rounds of this year's in-person contest will be hosted in person at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando in Florida, and will be broadcast live.
The nine Indian Americans in the finals reflect the dominance young kids from the ethnic community have had on this prestigious and high-pressure endurance test for more than a decade now.
