Resuming Day 2 at 276/3, India looked good for a big total but England derailed their plans in the 2nd Test. 2 wickets within the first 6 balls reduced the visitors to 282/5. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja added some crucial runs but James Anderson rattled India with his 31st 5-wicket-haul in Tests. His spell meant that the visitors were bowled out for 364. England saw off the new ball for a while but Mohammed Siraj brought India back into the match with 2 wickets on consecutive delivers and reduced the 3 Lions to 23/2. Joe Root and Rory Burns stitched an 84-run partnership before Burns got out for 49. Root though is still unbeaten at 48 as England ended Day 2 at 119/3, trail India by 245 runs.
