The revived BSA Motorcycles brand has officially revealed the all-new Gold Star motorcycle at the Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham in the UK. The new BSA Gold Star is a modern-classic motorcycle and takes design inspiration from the original Gold Star from the era gone by. BSA says the new design is an evolution of the original motorcycle with completely new underpinnings. Power comes from the 652 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve, DOHC engine. The motor develops 45 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 55 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The new engine has been developed by BSA in partnership with the Technical University of Graz to meet the latest emission standards. A 5-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch sends power to the rear wheel. The bike gets a tubular steel frame underneath with telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. The bike rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels with Pirelli Phantom Sportcomp tyres. Braking performance comes from Brembo brakes with dual-channel ABS as standard. Sales of the BSA Gold Star will begin in the international markets first sometime next year.
