Two Supreme Court judges have recused themselves from hearing cases involving West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
Justice Aniruddha Bose, who is from Kolkata, withdrew himself from the CM's petition in the Narada bribery case, saying: "I do not want to hear this case."
Earlier, Justice Indira Banerjee, who is also from Kolkata, had opted out of a separate case related to post-poll violence in parts of Bengal.
In the Narada case, the CM has accused the CBI of making “false allegations” about her sitting in protest outside CBI’s Kolkata office after the arrest of Trinamool leaders on May 17. Mamata Banerjee moved to SC after the Calcutta high court had refused to accept her affidavit on record while hearing the CBI’s plea for transferring the case from the trial court to itself.
