Prime minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attended a virtual event in which 1.75 lakh houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana were handed over to the beneficiaries in MP. Addressing the ‘grih pravesh’ or housewarming event, the PM called for strengthening the poor in order to remove poverty. He said the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is aimed at empowering the poor. These house were completed in just 45 to 60 days during the coronavirus pandemic, he added.
